GENERAL INFORMATION
Prices are quoted per day and hire periods are calculated on a 24 hour basis, e.g. if a car is collected at 3pm on Saturday for one week's rental, it must be returned the following Saturday no later than 3pm. Minimum age for hire of vehicles is 18 years (although young driver surcharge for 18-20 years applies). Drivers must produce a full, current driving licence held for a minimum of one year and if not in English then an accurate English translation or an International Driver's Permit is also required. A valid credit card (debit cards not accepted) is required to cover the deposit for the exclusions listed below. This will be taken in the form of a credit card authorisation and sufficient funds must be available on the card. The authorisation will be cancelled for any charges not incurred.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW) & THEFT LOSS WAIVER (TLW)
For rentals in South Africa our prices include Maximum CDW and TLW with zero excess (although claim administration fees may apply - see Additional Administration Fees). Traifinders prices include cover for damage to the windscreen, tyre, rim and hubcaps. Please note CDW does not cover damage caused by water or sandblasting, damage caused to the under body of the vehicle or valet charges (when applicable).
Please note: All insurance is void should the terms and conditions as stated in your rental agreement be violated.

YOUNG DRIVERS
Drivers aged 18-20 (incl) must have a full, unendorsed driver’s licence and pay a surcharge of R 130 per day.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
One additional driver is free, each extra driver costs R 150 and must be registered on collection.

INFANT/CHILD SEATS
These are required by law and cost R 157 per seat. They must be requested at least 72 hours in advance and are available for children up to the age of 5 years.

FUEL DEPOSITS
A fuel deposit of R 1,080 will be taken on collection and if the car is returned with a full tank, this will be refunded. Please note when purchasing fuel in South Africa, credit and debit cards are generally not accepted at most garages.

ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATION FEES
A rental contract fee of R 33 per rental will apply. There is also a claim administration fee of R456 in the event of damage or theft and a traffic fine administration fee of R 189 in addition to any traffic fine.

ONE WAY HIRES
One way hires within South Africa are available subject to a fee of R 428 except:
• Rentals between Johannesburg and Pretoria are free of charge.
• Rentals from Johannesburg to Durban, Cape Town or Mpumalanga cost R 647 (R 357 in reverse).
• Rentals between Durban and Richards Bay cost R 129.
• Rentals between Johannesburg and Sun City or Rustenburg cost R 130.

UPGRADING
Please note that if you have booked and paid for a particular car type and on arrival you are offered 'an upgrade', you will be required to pay extra for it! You would also pay more for the upgrade locally than if you had originally paid for the bigger car.

MOBILE PHONES/GPS
Mobile phones can be hired easily on arrival at all major airports and do not need to be pre-booked. A GPS unit can be pre-booked for collection from and return to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban International Airports and from Cape Town Downtown (123 Strand Street). Minimum age for GPS rental is 21 years. The cost is R 79 per day payable by credit card on collection. Insurance is included and is subject to an excess of R 1,500 should the unit be lost, stolen or damaged. Accessories are not covered and will be billed at standard retail prices. A security deposit of R 6,000 will be held against a credit card but will not be processed unless the unit is not returned.
