† Special Offer - 1 Aug - 15 Sep 08
Minimum hire of 7 days (any hire of 5 or 6 days must be booked at the normal rate). This 20% discount offer cannot be used in conjunction with other special offers.

- Minimum hire period is 5 days.
- Minimum hire period is 10 days with a collection date of 23 Dec 08 - 10 Jan 09 or when a vehicle is being collected from the North Island and returned to the South Island from 1 Oct 08 - 31 Mar 09.
- Minimum rental periods are subject to change during peak periods.
- Minimum age for drivers is 21 years. Drivers aged 75 or over require a medical certificate stating they are fit to drive.
- A full driver's licence is to be presented at the time of rental. For new style 2 part UK licences both the photocard and paper counterpart are required, but an older paper licence is sufficient with a form of photo identification such as a passport (if it is a foreign licence in a language other than English, then an international driving permit issued in the same country as the driver's licence was issued is also required).
- Hire is calculated on a calendar day basis, i.e. no matter what time the vehicle is picked up or dropped off, this is calculated as one day's hire. If your rental covers 2 or more seasons, each day's cost is calculated according to the season in which that day falls.

ONE WAY HIRES
One way hires are allowed between all branch locations. A fee of NZ $220 applies for rentals between the North Island and South Island and vice versa where pick-up is between 1 Oct 08 - 31 Mar 09.
INSURANCE/EXCESS
The vehicle is insured, however, an excess of NZ $7500 does apply. This is the maximum a renter is liable for in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle or third party, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. A Vehicle Security Deposit is required for the excess and is held from pick up until the completion of the hire and can only be paid for by credit card. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the security deposit upon vehicle collection. A 1.75% credit card surcharge applies to Visa/Mastercard credit card transactions and 4.5% for American Express. This deposit is fully refundable if the conditions of the contract are met: vehicle must be undamaged; contents must be clean and in a reasonable condition; fuel tank must be full; gas bottle must be full; toilet and waste water must be empty and agreed drop off depot and time must be adhered to. American Express deposits will have the 4.5% fee retained no matter what - we recommend you not to use this type of card. Clients may reduce the level of excess by taking out one of the following insurance policies at the start of the hire:
Excess Reduction Option 1 costs NZ $20/day to a maximum of NZ $1000 per rental and reduces the excess level to NZ $2500 but clients must still pay a reduced compulsory Vehicle Security Deposit of NZ $2500 (see above).
Excess Reduction Option 2 costs NZ $38/day to a maximum of NZ $1900 per rental and reduces the excess level to nil but clients must still have a reduced compulsory Vehicle Security Deposit of NZ $220 (see above) authorised on a credit card. When purchasing this option an additional 'No Worries Cover' is also available for a one off fee of NZ $50 per hire which extends the cover for accidental damage to include the overhead and underbody sections of the motorhome. In both cases the excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. Trailfinders recommend you take the Maui Premium Package for travel with complete peace of mind.
INSURANCE EXCEPTIONS
Overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle are not included unless 'No Worries Cover' or Maui Premium Package has been purchased. No vehicle may be driven off sealed roads. If any vehicle comes into contact with salt water, rivers or causeways all insurance policies become null and void and the hirer is responsible for total replacement of the vehicle. Cover is also null and void in the case of single vehicle rollovers and using the incorrect fuel.
DRIVING AREAS
Insurance is null and void if the vehicle is driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook) and the part of Bluff Road that runs between Kuatunu and Mataurangi and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula).
FERRY BETWEEN NORTH & SOUTH ISLANDS
If you are hiring a motorhome for use on both the North and the South Island you will need to take it on the Cook Strait ferry. We strongly recommend that you book and pay for ferry reservations for both the vehicle and passengers in advance. Please ask your Trailfinders travel consultant for details.
DIESEL TAX RECOVERY FEE
The Diesel Tax Recovery Fee will be calculated and collected on return of your vehicle and is based on the kilometres travelled during your hire. The vehicle rates per 100 kms are as follows:
2 Berth (unleaded petrol): nil
2 Berth (diesel): NZ $3.70
2 Berth T/S: NZ $3.70
4 Berth: NZ $3.90
6 Berth: NZ $4.25
Rates are subject to Government changes.
CAMPGROUNDS
There are lots of holiday parks throughout New Zealand offering motorhome sites. The holiday parks range from full facility sites where you link to mains water, electricity and drainage and which may have a swimming pool, general store or laundry to the more natural National or State Park campgrounds without these facilities. On collection of your vehicle from Maui you will receive a comprehensive booklet containing detailed information on where to stay, how to get there and what to see. You will also receive a free book of discount vouchers offering fantastic savings on a wide range of accommodation, tours and attractions all over the country! You may wish to pre-book some of the holiday parks and in peak season (Dec - Feb) it is essential - we suggest you look at the website www.top10.co.nz.
